i) the cyclone never became a tropical storm or hurricane (we only track named storms here), or

ii) the storm was never considered to be a threat to land by the NHC, or

iii) no-one was here to do the tracking e.g. holidays, work commitments etc.

Tropical Storm Josephine becomes a tropical depression way out in the mid Atlantic. Since this site only tracks tropical storms and hurricanes, this will be the final report for Josephine.

STATUS: Watching Tropical Storm Josephine, in the mid Atlantic
5th September, 2008 17:00 News Update

Tropical Storm Josephine way out in the mid Atlantic. Josephine has maximum sustained winds of 40 mph, and is moving to the northwest at 8 mph. The NHC currently expect Josephine to continue tracking westwards for the next 5 days, and to become a tropical depression on the next report.

We will just watch this storm for now, and if it looks as if it will threaten land we will initiate tracking.

Tropical Depression 10 becomes a Tropical Storm Josephine way out in the eastern Atlantic. Josephine has maximum sustained winds of 40 mph, and is moving to the west at 15 mph. The NHC currently expect Josephine to continue tracking westwards for the next five days and remaining a tropical storm.

We will just watch this storm for now, and if it looks as if it will threaten land we will initiate tracking.

Hurricane/Tropical Storm Josephine has not yet made an appearence. When it does it will be tracked above this record


I shall continue to update the tracking maps until Hurricane Josephine dies.
I can be found in the central Florida hurricane center forum until the end of November.
