iii) no-one was here to do the tracking e.g. holidays, work commitments etc.

Tropical Depression 7 has now become Tropical Storm Gustav. Gustav is situated to the south of the Dominican Republic with maximum sustained winds of 60 mph, and is moving towards the northwest at 15 mph. The NHC expect Tropical Storm Gustav to become Hurricane Gustav within the next 24 hours. Gustav is still expected to move towards the northwest and pass over Haiti and Cuba as it heads towards the Florida Keys. We will keep you updated on Gustav's progress over the coming days.

Tropical Depression 7 has moved steadily westwards from the southern Atlantic over the past few days, and is now situated to the south of the Dominican Republic. 7 has maximum sustained winds of 35 mph and is moving towards the northwest at 15 mph. The NHC expect this depression to become Tropical Storm Gustav by the time of the next report at 1700edt. Gustav is expected to continue to move towards the northwest and pass over Haiti and Cuba as it heads towards the Florida Keys. We will keep you updated on the progress of Gustav over the coming days.

Hurricane/Tropical Storm Gustav has not yet made an appearence. When it does it will be tracked above this record


I shall continue to update the tracking maps until Hurricane Gustav dies.
I can be found in the central Florida hurricane center forum until the end of November.
